I requested benefits start date of June 22, 2018. As of today (08.27.18) I still have not been determined. I am getting nowhere when speaking to DUA agents.
Please advise what my next step could be in order to receive payment as quickly as possible – Thank You!
I was separated from my employer and given 30days to find work within that company but they had no position in MA. They reported that I quit so I have been told I am not eligible. I have filled out the paper work on line and sent a PDF of the email stating I have 30days to look for another contract. What can I do, I have no check and have been going on several interviews but the summer is slow and I need to pay my mortgage.
Contact your MA social services. Also, if the paperwork wasn’t a formal appeal request, by all means appeal. If employer says you quit, the states will always rule for the employer unless you can prove otherwise. MA is very slow in processing, generally. Social services is your best bet right now.
Unbelievable. I’ve called an attorney because I have an email from HR informing me I have 30 days to find another position within the company, which I could not find as none were available within Massachusetts that did not require an advanced degree. The company has on file that the separation was mutual but I have signed no documents and sent in no notice, they emailed me requesting property in my possession.
I was discharged 4/14/17 and I did apply for unemployment insurance but this day I’ve not received any payments. they requested a physical , I took it o Boston but the lady I spoke with was very rude only mentioning that I have issues, I asked her what she meant didn’t elaborate, smiled and said that’s all. every week I look for work online I’ve had vey call backs and even then I haven’t found employment then. I called and emailed but no response, how can I get help.
You email your elected state representative and tell him your story. He’ll get back to you very quickly and MA will move on your claim. Do this today. Find your representative, here: https://malegislature.gov/Search/FindMyLegislator
I am laid off for 4 weeks. UI has not payed me in 3 weeks. Called and asked what’s up and was told I needed to look for 3 jobs every week. so do I apply for a job and tell them I can only work for a week then quit. Makes no sense at all.
If you have fixed return to work date of 28 days and can provide evidence of that, you are not required to search for work.
You need to contact MA about a waiver for your work searches. MA Claimant Handbook says this:
If you can’t get through to anyone on the phone at MA, then email your elected state representative on this issue. Elected reps are very effective at cutting through communication barriers in MA. Find yours, here:

I collected unemployment last year and never activated my debt card i was going to save the money. i went to use the card last week and was told because there was no activity on the card bank of america closed the account and sent the money back to unemployment without telling me now i have to get in touch with them and its impossible how do i get my money back do i have to go to a office?
Go to an office, if there is one. If they can’t help you, email your state representative. Find yours, here:

Filed a claim weeks ago. Says I’m declined because I didn’t make enough. Which is untrue. My employer straightened everything out w the office. Still won’t let me file new claims. Still haven’t received a cent. Been weeks. Keep calling and get no where. I am currently laid off for the winter. What am I supposed to do?
Claims with issues tend to disappear into a black hole in Massachusetts. Therefore, you immediately EMAIL your elected state representative. He will contact MA, MA will contact you and get this straightened out. Find your representative, here:

Reps are every effective at getting stalled claims on track and have been helpful to many MA claimants.
Is there anyway to communicate with a real person to check on the status of payments. No one will answer any numbers I have tried.
If MA has a local office you can visit, that is your next option. Someone there should be able to check your account. Otherwise, if you’ve been waiting more than four weeks, email your state representative. State reps are great at getting through to these offices and you will get an answer. Find yours, here:

These phone numbers do not work. And there is no office newtonville. I’m here right now..
I recently reopened my claim and wasn’t getting paid when I logged on it said I have a fraudulent over payment of 248 dollars from January of 1997 and 2 non fraudulent over payments in 2011. They say I owe them 2000 dollars 500 or so is interest from the 1997 overpayment. I work in construction and open my claim 2 or 3 times a year for a week or two. I always report what I have earned. I have open and closed my claim nearly 40 times since 1997 and never once been told either through the mail or on the phone that that I was overpaid or owed money. I called last week and the woman told me she would pass it on to her supervisor. That the “IT Guys” we’re updating the system whatever that means. Called again yesterday and was told to call back Wednesday or Friday. This morning I see they paid me 399 but kept 400.
I am trying to fix my first week of unemployment. It says on my homepage that I declined benefits how do I reverse it to get a check for that week. I already had a waiting week. I must have hit the decline button when signing up for Unemployment
You need to call MA or visit one of their offices to get this corrected.
I am trying to find out if I am eligible for unemployment extension. My benefits are now at zero as of this week I called Sunday 12/4/2016 and was told this so I assume no check this week. I found on lime that there are 4 tiers of extension, I have tried to call the tele cert number two weeks prior but was unable to speak with anyone. I also found on line that normally you don’t have tp apply for an unemployment extension because the system automatically for you, if you are eligible. I called like I said to speak with an unemployment counselor to see what I would have to do to apply for an extension and could not get anyone human to talk with, If you can help me please do so.
Thank you
There are no extensions. Congress eliminated the program three years ago in December 2013. Whatever information you have been reading is extremely outdated.
